1. Why did you choose WSA?

There are many haken [temp staffing] agencies to choose from. Some applicants take the 'shotgun' approach, sending their resume to dozens of agencies. I'm a bit more selective - there are too many cowboy agencies out there, and many aren't prepared to take the time to understand where you're coming from in your career and helping you with where you want it to go. WSA present themselves as a very detailed and professional organization. The job advertisements I saw posted by WSA were very clear, concise, and covered most of the questions I normally have for an agent.

2. What was your overall impression of WSA, including the positions we introduced to you?

WSA provided me with an opportunity at a very well-respected company, and were very efficient at providing communication during the initial interviewing stages. I have contracted with numerous other haken agencies, but have been most impressed by the detailed level of service and responsiveness that WSA have provided. Other agencies tend to switch off once they've placed you somewhere, and aren't prepared to follow-up and ensure that proper organizational fit has been achieved.

3. Please tell us about your career plans for the future?

I'm looking to stay in the IT field, most preferably with an Investment Banking organization. Ideally I plan to spend several more years in technical Haken positions, before transitioning to a management or architectural position in the IT field.

IT Support Analyst at an international bank since December 2006

1. What is your overall impression of WSA and the service you received?

I was surprised at the professionalism of everyone I was involved with at WSA. I was fresh out of school with only a few years experience, yet I knew what I wanted and WSA gave me that chance. At other agencies, I felt like I wasn’t given my chance to shine and was turned down before I even walked through the door. At WSA, I was given a chance to work at a big international bank with responsibilities that matched perfectly my career ambitions.

2. Please tell us about your role and responsibilities in your current placement?

I am now working as an IT Support Analyst with a wide range of responsibilities, from end user support, to IT Risk analysis, and Security. My position permitted me to enter the field with my present credentials, and to move into my career ambitions, which are in IT Security. WSA and my current employer have given me a chance that I wouldn't have been able to have back home in Canada. I could not be happier at my job now, and I owe it all to WSA whom decided to give me a chance and not turn me down before even seeing me.

3. Please tell us about your career plans for the future?

I hope to live in Japan for a good amount of time and hopefully develop my career as an IT Security professional. In the future, I hope to be in charge of IT Security related matters at my bank, or elsewhere as a Chief IT Security Officer. I believe that I am on the right path to attaining that goal thanks to WSA.
