Company Description

My client is one of the world's top global investment banks as well as being considered among the best financial firms to work for in Tokyo. They are currently seeking an experienced product contoller for the Equity Derivatives team to play a key role in enabling business activity in a robust control environment

Responsibilities

*Detailed P&L decomposition including escalation of material unexplained variances
*Produce daily balance sheet estimates, ensure accurate and timely reporting including analytical review on significant movements and balances
*Sign-off on control templates that apply to trading desks, identifying mitigating controls where standards have not been met and actions to improve standards where appropriate
*Leading role in driving team projects, including automation and process enhancement
*Involvement in completion of new product review documentation for new businesses/products proposed by trading desks and the implementation of systems and process changes

Requirements

*At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a product control function preferred
*Strong accounting background/knowledge is needed with Big 4 experience a plus
*Understanding of the business areas, products, procedures, and processes in an equities product control function strongly preferred
*Excellent spoken and written skills required in English
*Possess the courage to express or defend unpopular opinions

Preferred Experience

*Japanese communication/reading skills are a strong advantage
