European FMCG Company Wants a Marketing Manager!
Based in Tokyo, our client who is a Premium FMCG company is looking for a Marketing Manager who reports directly to the Country Marketing Director
You will be responsible for leading assigned category of the business portfolio, and major category projects. The Marketing Manager will be required to lead strategy development, NPD and Consumer Communication. You would be expected to work closely with global and regional peers on a regular basis. The MM would have the potential to become Global MM in 2/3 years and also to become the MD for Japan in the long term.
Responsibilities
* To develop a clear vision for the category at local level in line with regional and global strategic imperatives, and to generate annual and three-year brand plans to deliver the vision. There is full P&L responsibility
* To lead the development and implementation of the annual business plan, monitor performance and competitor activity and recommend adjustments to the marketing mix
* To deliver a product development programme to generate consistent sales and profit growth
* Generating local insights to leverage global portfolio development
* Developing compelling consumer communication based on true consumer insights
* ROI focus
* In Market performance of assigned brands (market share, sell out plans)
* Ensuring that there is a continous development of initiatives /innovation critical to the growth of Japan
* To develop local brand strategy and objectives by localizing global success models
* Ensuring that the key stake holders are aligned and informed on brand activities and progress
* To recruit, coach and develop direct reports into truly exceptional Marketers
* To co-ordinate the development and maintenance of effective local Sales/Marketing interface to ensure effective execution of business plans
* To lead, where appropriate, the selection of local external Service Agencies and to develop and manage professional working relationships
* To lead and/or contribute to international projects with partners within the Group
Requirements
* University degree in a commercial discipline
* At least 5 years marketing experience, and must be able to demonstrate outstanding marketing skills developed within the FMCG environment
