Overview
Senior Accountant in a leading telecommunications network infrastructure hardware provider
Company Description
*Our client is a leading telecommunications network infrastructure hardware provider
*The company has a mid-sized operation in Japan with around 300 staff and is looking for a talented accountant to join their team
*The position reports to the Accounting & Planning Manager in Japan and will liaise closely with the shared services centre in Shanghai
Responsibilities
*Report to Accounting & Planning Manager
*Supervise general accounting, and lead local book closing, complying with IFRS, tax & statutory requirements
*Handle treasury and payroll operation (payroll is outsourced)
*Interface with the shared service center in Shanghai
*Perform account reconciliation
*Support working with external auditor, and tax consultant to prepare the tax return
*Establish and monitor the internal control to meet SOX compliance
Requirements
*Solid understanding of general accounting with some experience and/or knowledge of treasury, payroll, and tax preferred
*Strong sense of ownership/accountability on responsible areas
*Self-starter: able to work independently as well as in a team environment to drive toward set goals
*Native level Japanese, business level English reading, writing and speaking
Preferred Experience
*Computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel
*Experience with SAP a plus
