Accounting Manager

Company Description

The position offers the potential to be promoted to Controller in 2-3 years!!

*Our client is a subsidiary of an American manufacturing company that is a leader in its industry
*The company has a small operation in Japan with about 25 staff which includes a very small manufacturing operation
*They are looking for a talented Accounting Manager to join their team, reporting to the Managing Director in Japan and the headquarters in the US

Responsibilities

*Preparation of monthly reports for local, divisional and corporate purposes
*Preparation of special reports and compliance with parent company requirements on a needs basis
*Play a major role in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts prepared throughout the year
*Managing the implementation and maintenance of the costing system for product groups
*Addresses all network / system administration tasks via external consultants
*Implementation of the company's IT strategy
*Administration of capital projects in conjunction with the relevant project managers
*Provide high-level financial analysis on business performance, and for strategic commercial initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions / due diligence assessments
*Liaise with the company's global and local insurers on relevant matters
*Administer the company's workers compensation policy
*To oversee all administrative tasks that arise on a day to day basis
*Backup for the Financial Accountant when that person is on leave
*Ensure that the company meets all regulatory requirements
*Perform all required administrative tasks with regards to pension
*Liaise with company solicitors on a needs basis

Requirements

*Highly developed technical accounting knowledge (taxation and local standards)
*Business level English and Japanese language skills
*Ability to manage a team and set goals
*Ability to work with all levels within the company
*Ability to work towards deadlines
*Well developed knowledge of PC environment

* Remuneration: 9 to 14 Million Yen
