Seeking well-connected Senior Professional for Global Opportunity Fund of RE Investment Firm
Company Description
*Our client is well established in the real estate investment management industry
*The company has been actively penetrating the Asian market since its inception one decade ago
*Japan is considered an important growth area and are expecting to increase assets under management rapidly
Responsibilities
*Senior fund professional responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing opportunistic real estate investments in Japan, including, but not limited to, equity investments at both the project and corporate levels, as well as investments in equity-like instruments such as mezzanine debt, preferred equity, non-performing loans, convertible notes, etc.
*Fund’s target levered equity returns are +20%
*Work with the team to source, structure, and execute opportunistic real estate investments throughout Japan for the Fund
*Real estate investment targets should include both asset and corporate-level opportunities
*Work with internal or external asset management teams around monitoring and yield management of fund’s investments
*Maintain ongoing relationships with co-investors, developers, and other partners to Fund
Requirements
*More than 5 years experience in private equity and/or other principal-focused activities in the real estate sector and/or strong development experience
*Deep relationships with real estate developers, construction firms, and other real estate operating companies, in addition to lenders, banks, and financial institutions
*Understanding of and facility with Japanese real estate finance practices
*Familiarity with corporate finance, including M&A, as well as hard assets (previous development experience would be ideal)
*Effective communications skills in Japanese / English
*Ability to interact with senior management and all levels of staff
