Our client is to discover, develop and deliver breakthrough medicines to people around the world

Responsibilities

This HRBP will be based in Tokyo, Japan and will belong to a team that provides a broad range of HR support and services to a large client group consisting of VPs, Executive and Senior Directors, Directors and several hundred managers and employees in a collaborative, professional environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Support all compensation, benefit, recruitment and placement activities for assigned area, as well as performance management, headcount planning, employee relations, and consult with line management to ensure compliance with all established plans

* Establish plans and implement ongoing support on HR related matters

* Support the planning and implementation of leadership & employee development programs in assigned area

* Lead activities across a broad range of employee compliance objectives, keeping abreast of government regulations

* Consult with line management at all levels to propose the most effective organization structure for supporting the business objectives of the assigned area

* Make recommendations to line management on management levels, headcount management, and opportunities for improving organizational effectiveness

* Develop HR plans to support divisional/area strategies

* Strive to achieve a favorable employee relations climate to assigned area and enhance communication levels among employees

Requirements

The qualified candidate will have acted as an HR Business Partner within a large corporate setting providing strategic direction and overall HR guidance to their client areas
* Consulting and influencing skills are essential, as well as strong customer focus and project management
* Fluency in Japanese and English is required (TOEIC +800)
* Experience working in HR in Japan is required and experience within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
