Commercial Manager in an automotive parts manufacturer

Automotive parts manufacturer (Tier 1 Maker)

Responsibilities

*Develop and maintain robust customer relationships through the effective management and co-ordination of all commercial activities with nominated customer accounts
*Provide clear and prompt pricing, sales and forecasted volume data to support the preparation of both local plant and regional budgets
*Assist in the generation and the active update of the Live Medium Term Plan (MTP) with the business development team
*Determine potential new business opportunities both within the current customer base as well as promoting additional MTP growth by identifying new initiatives in line with regional financial requirements
*Cost model generation for new products in conjunction with the relevant screening documentation to justify potential new business cases in terms of both strategic and financial returns for the region
*Regular customer reviews on pricing, performance and overall satisfaction to ensure alignment between specific customer needs and the internal business requirements of TI Automotive
*Preparation of a detailed monthly activity report in accordance with company guideline
*Prepare and develop product contribution analysis with the manufacturing plants in order to drive contribution improvements
*The preparation of comprehensive customer quotations and the effective co-ordination of all local and functional management support to ensure complete transparency on quotation development
*Develop a close link with Functional Engineering and Program management groups to ensure alignment of both product/manufacturing strategies with customer expectations
*Provide specific customer intelligence and feedback to regional functional groups
*Support local and regional teams on all major customer specifics and communication, representing TI Automotive in terms of key customer contact on all business related activities

Requirements

*Proven and successful track record working in a similar role within the automotive industry ideally with direct experience with OEM customers regarding commercial issues
*Fluency in speaking, understanding, writing and reading both Chinese and English
*Good interpersonal skills and ability to work across a number of disciplines in a professional and effective manner
*Strong commercial acumen and ability to be persuasive in a marketing and “selling” sense
*Ideally, experience in working effectively with a “Western” multi-national organization
*Ability to work in a structured way in a frequently pressurized environment
*High degree of self-motivation
*Understanding of and ability to work with various aspects of the business
*Ability and willingness to travel both within China and the Asia Pacific Region
