Financial Controller

Company Description

*This company is a media investment management group of and subsidiary of one of the world's largest communications services group
*This is a senior position within the company, responsible for leading finance team and supporting CFO in controlling financial achievement as well accounting reporting integrity

Responsibilities

*Manage the financial accounting & tax compliancy function
*Ensure all financial reports to be submitted timely and accurately
*Work with group finance team to complete monthly/quarterly/year-end financial closing and reports in line with the company rules and policies
*Ensure all financial processes are to be in compliance with group SOX policy
*Assist CFO to prepare all management reporting and ad hoc requests
*Develop the financial plan process and monthly / quarterly P&L forecast / business analysis processes and drive the annual business planning
*Analyze monthly P&L results providing key insights into overall performance of the business
*Develop a reporting framework that delivers value-added information to business partners
*Engage with business partners to ensure key investment and resource decisions are being optimized
*Re-engineer financial processes and implement sound internal controls to mitigate risk
*Ensure local statutory and tax obligations are being complied with
*Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements
*Manage funding status among all agencies optimized to run their businesses
*Ensure all agencies are in compliance with SOX
*Lead and develop a finance team of 6 people and directly report to CFO
*Liaise with both internal and external auditor on an annual basis, especially on SOX audit
*Additionally, work closely with HR Dept and IT Dept on finance related area

Requirements

*Minimum 8 years experience in finance area, either at professional firms or multinational companies
*3+ management experience is preferable
*Familiar with Japan GAAP, Japan Tax, IFRS or US GAAP
*Ability to analyze financial activity and translate detailed information into material effects on financial position
*Innovative individual who can identify accounting needs, evaluate current processes, and independently pursue projects to completion
*Pleasant character, good interpersonal skills, ability to take initiatives and to work flexibly to achieve overall financial and company objectives
*Strong verbal and written communication both in Japanese and English

Additional Notes

Remuneration:
*Up to 11 million yen depending on skill and experience
