Company Description
*The firm offers global investment management expertise through the in-house funds, a series of global/international equity funds.
Responsibilities
*Report to global Operational Risk Management and work closely with Management, you will be responsible for both operational process risk and process improvement (projects)
*Support the company's development and implementation of an effective risk management program
*Proactive analysis and monitoring of Key Risk indicators, work closely with various divisions to resolve operational risk issues
*Work with all Tokyo Office functions and the Global oversight functions to establish proper action plans to address issues raised
*Provide exception leadership for Tokyo originated exceptions and affiliate originated exceptions that impact Tokyo clients
*Implementation of an ongoing formal risk assessment processes including CSAs (Control Self Assessments), RMMs (Risk Management Meetings), and control testing (Internal Audits)
*Evaluate risk management processes relative to regulatory expectations
*Development, maintain, and nurture ongoing relationships with global colleagues
*Develop and implement initiatives to foster a risk awareness mentality throughout the TKO organization
Requirements
*At least 5 years experience in asset management/Internal Audit/Risk Management
*Finance / business Degree
*Japanese Native Level, Effective bi-lingual communication (oral and written) skills
*Strong analytical abilities in order to process large amounts of data/information and summaries that data/information to highlight trends and issues of importance
*An interest in developing and implementing new processes in a global financial services company
*Good understanding of Asset Management / securities industry regulations applicable to Operational Risk
*Good understanding of the key risks the organization faces as it develops and implements initiatives in Japan
*Ability to create and maintain a good network at all levels across all functions
*Good communication and presentation skills
*A team player
*Mature, a self-starter who can work with diverse team personnel at various parts of the global organization
*Strong conceptual thinking skills and be able to effectively research and resolve business issues arising in various operating environments
*Worked with Asset Managements organizational structure, culture and risk appetite
*Familiar with Asset Managements processes, systems and procedures
*Worked with Asset Management/securities regulatory environment in Japan
*Accounting knowledge/experience will be an advantage
*Supervisory/management experience an advantage
