*Leading International Management Consulting Company - Japan Office
*Seeking Senior Management Accountant to supplement its Accounting department of 6 people based in Tokyo.
Responsibilities
*As this is a new position, the role itself will be somewhat developed by the person who takes on the role. The key objectives, however, are to take overall responsibility for the Office economics, management reporting, expense management and process improvement. It is envisaged that after a period of 12-18 months the successful candidate would then take over additional responsibilities on the Financial/Tax accounting side of accounting, so relevant experience also required In these areas.
Specific responsibilities initially are:
Office Economics
*Gain a full understanding of all levers of the office economics (revenues, utilization, costs)
*Prepare and maintain office budget and forecasts (revenue and expenses)
*Prepare monthly analysis for office leadership
Management Reporting
*Develop monthly reports for office leadership
*Develop office benchmarks and scorecard
*Manage off-shoring of reports to shared service centres
Expense Management
*Prepare and monitor Firm/office guidelines and policies for expenses
*Undertake expense efficiency initiatives for unit cost reduction
*Assist office in contract/price negotiations with vendors
*Prepare cost benefit analysis for office initiatives
*Promote office activities on a regional/global basis
Process Improvement
*Manage and maintain office initiative database
*Assist other support staff in process review and improvement initiatives
*Assist in the offshoring of accounting processes to shared service centres
Requirements
*Five+ years experience in an Accounting or Finance department
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels; strong influencing capabilities
*A non-hierarchical approach; the flexibility and ability to build consensus
*Ability to work under pressure and conflicting circumstances
*Problem-solving and project management skills; multi-tasking ability
*Experience and confidence in using IT-based systems and tools
*Strong integrity, maturity and fairness in dealing with people and confidential information
*Fluency in English & Japanese language
*Qualified Accountant (CPA, CIMA, ACCA) preferred
