Company Description

* The company's Japan operations is seeking a Financial Accounting Reporting Manager to join its expanding team

Responsibilities

*Work with the Finance Management to develop the policy for financial accounting and reporting

*Lead and oversee the coordination and control of the operations, financial accounting reporting team

*Responsible for ensuring the interim and annual financial statements and quarterly updates are accurate, relevant and produced on a timely basis for final review with the Finance Manager and CFO

*Communicate and liaise with the business stakeholders, including Local manager on Financial Accounting and Regulatory policy and procedures

*Own the design, establishment, and maintenance of relevant Financial and Management Accounting and Reporting processes, policy and procedures

*Understand Group accounting policy and propose and develop the local accounting policy to align with this, covering aspects of organization, process, people, and IT systems

*Final review and sign off of financial accounting information reports and packs prepared by Financial Reporting Accountant

*Ensure that Internal Control Framework is effective

*Liaise with internal stakeholders and Group, respond to queries and communicate around the Financial Reports and monthly packs

*Liaise with key stakeholders to communicate and educate on accounting policy

*Review and evaluate proposals from the Finance team

*Review and set the financial timetable for the year, communicating the schedule and requirements to stakeholders

*Deal with internal and external auditors as well as inspections by local authorities

Requirements

*Minimum of five years experience in accounting, finance and financial services industry
*Minimum of two years management experience
*University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., accounting, tax, finance, or related discipline)
*Relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CPA, Chartered Accountant)
*English spoken and written skills preferable to facilitate strong working relationship with the Corporate Center
*Familiarity with applicable tax rules and regulations
*Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills in a business environment
*Ability to explain complex finance issues in a clear and concise manner to non technical colleagues

Remuneration:
*Around 9 - 12M JPY, flexible depending on skills and experience
