Company Description
*Online retail bank provides savings accounts via the Internet or telephone. The direct bank has no physical branches and passes its operational cost savings on to the customer.
Responsibilities
*The Credit Risk Analyst assesses and monitors credit risk profile of the company arising from the bank’s Treasury investment activities
*Reviews all new, or materially different, (retail and investment) transactions that may expose the company to material credit risk and advises Manager Credit Risk Management with regards to the investment proposal
*Monitors risk positions against limits, analyzes credit events, rating change, reviews portfolio and prepares reports on credit risk of the company for the purpose of the BOJ, FSA, management and Head Office
*Assists Manager Credit Risk Management in proper maintenance of ALM Policy in relation with credit risk management;
*Communicates with HO on credit model parameters, policies, methodologies, limits, products and investment mandates, in order to advise management
*Employs activities to (further) develop and implement a consistent, comprehensive and state-of-art credit risk measurement of the company
*Escalates and reports any development of credit risk as proactively as possible, to avoid surprises for the company
Requirements
*Strong IT literacy ？ Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint, Access
*Knowledge of Sungard credit software systems
*University degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics , Business Administration
*Professional qualification (e.g. CFA)
*3-5 years of wholesale credit risk analysis experience in (Investment) bank, asset management or rating agency
*Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
*Proven experience in credit risk analysis and market/industry/product research
*Exercises the greatest care in handling data, detail oriented
*Stable personality however not inflexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow fluctuations
*Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese
*Innovative team player, with good quantitative, analytical skills
*Takes initiative and is proactive
