Responsibilities
*To support the changing accounting requirements and perform the month-end and FOBO reconciliations for GME Tokyo. Maintain the Financial Accounts that support the Japan GME business, and work within the BAC function to control the integrity of the reported p/l numbers through accounting/ reconciliation controls.
*Monitoring the daily p/l and position reconciliation of the various settlement systems vs the front office system and working closely with DKS who actually perform the reconciliations, Equity Product Control BAC producing the daily p/l, Middle Office and Operations in the investigation of any breaks
*Reconciliation of general ledger vs reported numbers for GME Tokyo
*Creation of various regulatory reports to meet accounting requirements
*Reconciliation of Intercompany Derivatives and Commissions on a monthly basis
*Infrastructure setup for new Equity businesses
*Support SOX testing and performance of controls
*Balance sheet substantiation of the Equity Management Areas (MRP)
*FAS133 hedge accounting, EITF0213 and DIGB5 (and IFRS equivalent) accounting
Requirements
*Basic accounting knowledge
*Problem solving and pro-active follow-up and investigation of issues
*Flexibility In managing multiple tasks
*Knowledge of the settlement systems, general ledger, front office system will be an advantage
*Bilingual in both English and Japanese
*Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Access skills
*Professional certifications such as qualified accountant (CPA/CFA) would be helpful
*3 years experience in financial accounting and good understanding of the Equity Financial Control functions
*University Degree (preferably in accounting)
*Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and *Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes
