Responsibilities

*Report directly to and support the CFO
*Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements on JGAAP basis
*Lead project to implement new General Ledger system
*Monitor budgeting and financial planning for 2 divisions
*Prepare reports on internal control risks to compliance and internal audit
*Primary point of contact for external auditors and regulators
*Headcount reporting and analysis
*Preparation of regular and ad hoc management reports
*Identifying and following through cost saving initiatives
*Maintaining the required accounting records and reports, and ensuring compliance with company accounting policies
*Monitoring project financials against approved budgets
*Assisting CFO in preparing and monitoring reserves
*Day to day management of the financial control team

Requirements

*Strong working knowledge of JGAAP is essential
*Qualified Accountant with 5 - 10 years experience preferred
*Degree educated with at least 5 years experience within a financial role a must
*Strong Leadership skills with at least 2 years experience of managing a team
*Familiarity with legal entity structures within Japan and a high level of understanding of tax issues
*Business level English and fluent Japanese
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
*Highly PC literate (Strong Excel skills essential)
*Capable of automating procedures and implementing efficient processes
*Excellent internal control mindset
Experience in an audit firm is a big plus)
