Responsibilities
-Serve legal needs to one or more business and functional teams including Operations, Human Resources, Customer Service escalations, Payments, infrastructure, Product compliance, Operations as well as deal with legal issues arising in connection with overseas.
Responsibilities include:
*Working closely with business teams and functional units for legal-related issues;
* Negotiating with outside parties;
* Serving as primary attorney to one or more business teams on an ongoing basis;
* Structuring, drafting, negotiating and counseling business teams on issues ranging from standard contracts to
complex, high-dollar value transactions and cutting-edge business initiatives;
* Providing day-to-day business law counseling;
* Managing and resolving legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships;
* Providing legal review of warehouse leases and related agreements, 3rd party services agreements, credit card processing issues, advertisements, promotions and marketing, as well as legal review of procedural and government compliance issues;
* Working with Japan Legal Director on compliance initiatives, planning and executing process improvements and training; and
* Closely coordinating with global legal team and outside counsel.
Requirements
-At least 6 to 10 years of legal experience in major international law firms and/or corporate legal departments
-Requires conversational Japanese and English fluency and involves reviewing and drafting documents in both languages.
