WSA Women's Association
Women's Career Plan & Leadership
Last July, WSA Women's Association held its inaugural internal event for all WSA female staff, Career Planning & Leadership.
The event provided a forum for exchanging ideas and insights on leadership among WSA women. Both sessions were meaningful and helped strengthen internal networks within our company.
Similar programs are already in place among many foreign capital companies here in Japan. We continue to learn from such companies and create a working environment that maximizes the talents of our female staff.
Career Design Session
The first session, Career Design, was conducted by AVM Tokyo YK career CEO Yukiko Yamamoto, who specializes in organizing tailored seminars and workshops to promote the involvement of women in the workplace.
The aim of this session was to encourage participants to think about their own priorities and motivational factors when deciding future goals and career objectives.
Ms. Yamamoto emphasized that ascertaining the starting point is key to creating original and insightful Career Maps.
Through guided group discussions, everyone had opportunity to
openly share their ideas, which helped them to understand each others' priorities and motivations on a more personal level.
"Creating my Career Map helped me to organize my career and my life. Focusing on my career goals, I was able to evaluate the past, the present and think about how to construct my life and work for the future. It was great to have time to think this through in more detail and get constructive input from my colleagues."

Guest Speaker Session
The majority of WSA's women work in sales. At the second session, two guest speakers each with impressive sales backgrounds were invited to shared their personal experiences gained from Japanese and foreign capital companies.
Their animated presentations were highly informative and inspirational for the WSA women in attendance.
Some comments included:
- As a working woman, I gained valuable insight listening to presentations from such experienced and established women.
- There were specific examples, times where we could empathize, and altogether it was an opportunity to learn. The time passed all too quickly.
- In the end, it was a chance to seek one's own vision.
